Tom Greenland – London, England – Festival Management

Definitely an experience I will not forget. I learnt so much and made some great industry connections. If I could change one thing I would have preferred to have lived closer to, or inside the site itself, but otherwise the experience was amazing, and I am looking forward to returning next year. Thanks.

Sam Lynch – Manchester, England – Venue/Concert Technician

The highlight of the placement was being able to go backstage during the concert itself to see how all of our hard work was being used. People don't realise the amount of hours it takes to build out a venue for a concert, or how tiring it can be. Thanks to Chris and Paul at MII for organising everything.

Dylan Fessel – Amsterdam, Netherlands – Studio Engineering/Production

MII confirmed my internship within 2 weeks of being referred to them by my Uni, so I just had enough time to apply for my Erasmus grant. I was really surprised at how quickly I was expected to learn the technical aspects of working the equipment, but after the first few weeks I became a lot more confident in my own abilities and around the rest of the guys. Really rewarding, but very hard-work. Cheers.

Melanie Grant – London, England – Radio Station – Production

I always wanted to get into radio but found it hard to make industry connections living in Liverpool. MII were easy to work with, saw what I wanted to do, and made it happen. I was thrown in at the deep end but was able to spend time with everyone from station management and talent, to the studio engineers and researchers. From starting off wanting to be a presenter I now see that I am definitely suited to a behind the mic role, though I loved being able to interview one of the presenters live on air! Thanks guys.

Hilary Rosenstein – Amsterdam, Netherlands – Online Music Distribution

Travelling to Europe for the first time was a dream come true for me. This was my first experience in sales, and I was challenged daily. I learnt so much about how the streaming business works, how relationships with the labels are so important, and how different the job can be on any given day. Amsterdam was so much fun, and I will take away so many memories of my time there. Mind-blowing!

Nick Eagles – London, England – Event Organiser

Knowing that the role was only going to be four weeks I dived into it, showing the Advent guys what I could do, and picking up as much knowledge and tips as I could. By my final week I was one of the team, but was still really surprised to be offered a full-time role! I am so grateful to MII for taking the time to help me, and want to thank James, and the rest of the team for helping me get back into work so quickly.

Kate Smith – Berlin, Germany – Songwriting

Amazing! Amazing! I had always wanted to follow in my mother's footsteps and write music, so getting the chance to spend a month shadowing a team as they wrote the first EP for a new artist was literally astonishing! Letting go of my emotions to feel the music was so liberating. I definitely feel that my writing has improved, and that I am maturing as a lyricist, and look forward to getting the label's feedback on my material when I head back in January
